Depot Days in Outville July 5-6, 2008

The West Licking Historical Society will be hosting "Depot Days" at the restored Historic Outville Depot on July 5 - 6, 2008, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  The event will showcase the restored depot as well as displays emphasizing the role of transportation to the development of this area.   The depot is located in the Harrison Township Complex at 6750 Outville Road , just south of the railroad in Outville , Ohio

The depot was built in 1899 on the B & O railroad line in Outville.  It is the last depot of its kind on the Panhandle Line and is built in the stick Eastlake architectural style.  Restoration cost was largely funded through a Transportation Enhancement Act (TEA) Grant and the Harrison Township Trustees.  It was moved to its present site in 1993 and dedicated in 2005.  It is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The event is a Licking County Bicentennial Event and will feature the Licking County Bicentennial Quilt.

"Railroaders" Jack and Phil and other members of the West Licking Historical Society will be on hand to tell the story of the many transportation photos and artifacts on display.
